Our Fairmont Hotel Experience

We recently booked for an overnight stay at Fairmont Hotel in Makati and allow me to share my experience and comments to this new Luxury Hotel in Ayala, Makati.

We chose a Fairmont Gold Room which includes the following:

1. Merienda Snacks that starts at 2 pm. So after you check-in, so LITERALLY you can start eating. They include canapes, cold cuts, small sized pastries.

2. Evening Snack - several pastries again, cold cuts, and few types of maki.

3. Midnight Snack - some assorted sweet snacks like cookies and sponge cake. The cake is served on cold table its dripping with honey, and topped with whipped cream. At this time, you may also want to try their complimentary wine. I do not think those are expensive type of wines though - but just enjoy it anyway with your friends and loved ones.

4. Buffet Breakfast

Dining Hall is also at the 7th Floor where Fairmont Gold Rooms are located. So the food is just a few steps away, and you won't stop eating if you wanted to.

My comments:

> The Snack meals are fine. They are prefectly prepared and the presentation is special. If you're the type of person who needs rice or meat during meal time, you need to have some alternative plans :-)

> The Buffet Breakfast is not so grand actually. The dining area is just the same with those snack time events but I was expecting this will make a bigger set-up for the buffet. But actually, it's just the same. So dont expect long buffet tables complete with Filipino and International food selections. The selections are just a few. You have fried rice / plain rice / bacon / sausages / fruits / cereals / etc. Just dont expect a lot like what they serve in Sofitel or Shangrila because you will be disappointed. It's most probably because they dont have a lot of customers yet.

> If you are a coffee lover and loves preparing coffee, you'll be impressed. I think they are using the Keurig Coffee Maker brand and it's also available in your room. You have 4 pods available in your room, so you can enjoy the experience of making you very own coffee right in your own room with this elegant machine. No more coffee powder sachets!!!

> The bathroom is perfect - it's a brand new hotel. It's spacious and must take note, the bath tub is separate from the shower area. So for couples, if someone wanted to take the shower and another one needs to stay on the tub, you've got it.

> The toiletries come with "Rose 31" brand. You've got to take home some.

> The airconditioning system is digital, you control everything just beside your bed. Even the lighting too!

> The Fairmont swimming pool is under renovation, so clients are allowed to go to Raffle's Tower to access their swimming pool. It's good except that it get's crowded in a situation like this. When I checked it, it's FESTIVE over there. Lot's of kids and expats. I did not see any available chairs I can use. So in the end, we decided not to try the swimming pool. Eventhough you will share it with Raffles, it's very accessible and you dont need to get outside the building. It's interconnected.

> Let me also say that Fairmont is a not a Child-friendly or Family-friendly hotel. The ambiance is elegant and formal, it's hard to find some happiness and excitement that kids and families would want. This hotel is more catered for traveling businessmen and more serious type of clients.
